Being the mom is the best!
As the days go by, it turns out that Michael and I get to spend a bit of time together! ;) He loves to just sit and snuggle on my lap, and I love it! Sometimes, there is nothing better than being, plain and simple, the mom!

Bath Time
Now that Michael can sit, we have been giving him baths now in the bathtub. The first bath was so fun. Jonathon grabbed his swim suit and hopped in with him! I thought it was so cute how Michael was fascinated by the water. We let him have 3 toys in with him, and he wanted to hold them all. If any one of them floated away, he would try his hardest to get it back, even if it meant letting go of the ones he had. They, of course, would float away too, leaving him toyless. Nevertheless, dad was in the bath with him, so he got them all back anyway. Then, instead of playing with the toys he had newly acquired, he'd just run his hand through the water loving the feel and look of it. He was just so darn cute.

Halloween fun
For Halloween this year Michael was Winnie the Pooh. It was a ton of fun! After sitting outside for the trick or treaters, Jonathon, Michael, and I went over to Michael and Malory's for some Halloween fun.
Devin and Melissa were Cruela Devile and one of the dalmations, while Malory was Snow White. It was a blast to get together as friends.
Devin and Melissa brought their brand new tiny puppy that was just Michael's size. He wasn't sure what he thought about a moving stuffed animal!

Michael is Six Months!
Michael turned six months only a few days after family pictures, so we thought it would be a good time to take his six month pictures. At the time, Michael wasn't really able to sit on his own, he still had a very round bottom. In the pictures of him sitting, Jonathon was off to the side waiting to catch him if he lost his balance. I was worried that the sitting pictures would mis-represent him at this stage in his development, but it turned out that the next day he figured out how to sit on his own anyway... it must of just clicked.

The leaves were just beautiful on the day that we took these pictures. When we got Michael sitting there, he just wanted to play with the leaves instead of looking at the camera. It was only when he had one in his hand and was bringing it to his mouth that he looked up. One time, he actually got the leaf in his mouth right as we snapped a picture. He was not so pleased with how it tasted (apparently) and pulled the funniest face. I am actually glad that we got the shot!

Final Stages of Yard Work
As the weather is turning, we are doing the last few things in the yard. Before Jonathon mowed this last time, he picked all of the mushrooms in our yard and put them on the back porch. Man did we have a bundle. I am sad to say I'm a bit sorry that we won't need to do much more yard work (mainly because this means that winter is on its way... and then it's snow, snow, snow.)

Playing Legos
Well, ever since we got the legos out with Matt and Rikki, legos have been on the brain. So, we decided to listen to Harry Potter on CD and play. Man how the time flies. One minute it will be 9 pm and the next 2 am. But boy is it fun.
Here's what Jonathon made:

Here's what I made:

I'm just so glad that Jonathon has all of these legos. Legos are probably the best toy ever invented. They help develop creativity and imagination, while honing important motor skills. Thank heavens for legos. I am excited for the day when Michael will play with us.
