Michael is crawling
It's official, Michael can now crawl all over. This has proved to be the best tool in baby proofing the house: he finds everything, and I take it away. Talk about some major adjustments. Now, I've always thought of myself as a pretty clean kept person, but I am finding things out about my house that I never new. For example, when Michael first discovered the kitchen a few days ago, I didn't think it would be a problem to let him just explore the tile while I made dinner. At least, I didn't think it would be a problem until I noticed all the things he found on the floor. In fact, even after taking away all the big things I didn't want him into, he still had some dirt and other odd stuff that stuck to the palms of his hands. I guess I didn't realize how dirty the floor was until he was crawling on it. I promptly moved him to center of the other room with all his toys and swept. But, just in case, in order to keep him from coming back into the kitchen to my sweep pile, I put some laundry baskets blocking the kitchen entry (as we do not have a baby gate just yet). Next thing I know, he is playing with the socks I had just folded. Talk about little Mr. Underfoot. Well, I couldn't think anything but how cute it was, so I took a picture. He looks pretty pleased with himself. As for now on, I will be a little more keen as to how clean the floor is.

Like Father Like Son
After going through some baby clothes that I have had upstairs (tucked away in a closet for ages), I found a cute little bow tie for Michael. Now, since Jonathon is notorious for wearing bow ties and we have been meaning to get one anyway, this came as quite a fun find. I couldn't help but dress Michael to match Jonathon for church. I must say, like father like son!

How Michael has changed
Michael has been changing so much over the past few months. It is fun to look back and see how he has changed. This is particularly nostalgic to me as I think of my mom and family in Wyoming who haven't seen Michael since June. Since then he has learned to roll over (from back to tummy and tummy to back), sit, scoot, and now crawl (wahoo!); not to mention the giggling, gurgling, eating and hand control he has mastered. It's hard to believe that time could fly this fast. Here are some pictures that I took in June to compare to now. He is sitting in our nice big brown chair. He sure has chunked up a bit.

Michael and his almost crawl
So, Michael hasn't quite figured out how to crawl yet, but he is sure exploring the use of his legs. Not only has he been able to push up to his hands and knees, he can push up to his hands and feet. I'm not sure how this is easier than crawling, but it appears to be so, for he doesn't crawl but pushes up instead. I've been very impressed by his strength, persistence, and incredible patience as he begins this new stage in his life.

Bath Time
Now that Michael can sit, we have been giving him baths now in the bathtub. The first bath was so fun. Jonathon grabbed his swim suit and hopped in with him! I thought it was so cute how Michael was fascinated by the water. We let him have 3 toys in with him, and he wanted to hold them all. If any one of them floated away, he would try his hardest to get it back, even if it meant letting go of the ones he had. They, of course, would float away too, leaving him toyless. Nevertheless, dad was in the bath with him, so he got them all back anyway. Then, instead of playing with the toys he had newly acquired, he'd just run his hand through the water loving the feel and look of it. He was just so darn cute.

Halloween fun
For Halloween this year Michael was Winnie the Pooh. It was a ton of fun! After sitting outside for the trick or treaters, Jonathon, Michael, and I went over to Michael and Malory's for some Halloween fun.
Devin and Melissa were Cruela Devile and one of the dalmations, while Malory was Snow White. It was a blast to get together as friends.
Devin and Melissa brought their brand new tiny puppy that was just Michael's size. He wasn't sure what he thought about a moving stuffed animal!
